Manager/Supervisor
Position Summary
This manager will serve as a critical member of OBI’s meaningful day management team, working 
collaboratively with other managers to ensure high quality services for individuals participating in Day 
Habilitation and Community Development Services (CDS). This manager will provide direct supervision 
to assigned Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), providing the training and support necessary for them 
to have successful and enjoyable work experiences. This manager will be responsible for handling the 
staffing assignments, including finding coverage for unscheduled absences, and vehicle/transportation 
assignments for employees and participants in Day and CDS services. An ongoing goal for this position is 
to continue refining participant groups based on location, interests, preferences, and staffing so that 
each individual is able to be supported in the most independent and effective program model. The salary range for this position is between $57,500 - $65,000 annually.

Essential Duties 

Supervisory Duties 
  • Interview, hire, and train qualified staff to provide quality supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 
  • Provide effective and respectful support and direct supervision to assigned staff. 
  • Serve as a role model for other staff, demonstrating the type of participant interactions and customer service expected by OBI. 
  • Establish a system for monitoring staff duties to ensure completion and accuracy (i.e., daily attendance and progress notes, developing and adhering to monthly activity calendars, following vehicle procedures, etc.). 
  • Complete timely performance evaluations for employees under direct supervision. 
  • Effectively manage use of the payroll and client management system software to ensure accuracy and timeliness. 
Staffing & Transportation Duties 
  • Manage staffing and vehicle assignments for the Day Habilitation and CDS programs. 
  • Working collaboratively with other department supervisors and with guidance from the Senior Director as needed, provide staffing assignments, ensuring that assigned staff are fully trained on individuals prior to being assigned to work with them. 
  • Adjust staffing assignments as necessary, proactively for scheduled staff absences and as efficiently as possible for unscheduled staff absences (day-of call outs or early departures). 
  • Provide transportation assignments for staff providing Day and CDS services by assigning an OBI vehicle or pre-inspected personal vehicle to be used. 
  • Maintain and distribute an up-to-date transportation assignment schedule showing each participant’s expected pick-up and drop-off time and other relevant details. 
  • Track, review, and monitor participant attendance for accuracy on a daily basis; work collaboratively with other managers to address individual staff about significant discrepancies and/or repetitive errors. 
  • Monitor OBI’s fleet using the GPS system to verify time/attendance, safe driving habits, and spot checking for location accountability. 
  • Provide direct care as needed, including transporting individuals using personal vehicle and/or OBI’s vehicles 
Training Duties 
  • Facilitate transportation training for all OBI employees. 
  • Facilitate re-training for all OBI employees involved in accidents or incidents that require transportation training refreshers. 
  • Coordinate car inspections for DSP personal vehicles upon hire or change of vehicle. 
Management Team Duties 
  • Serve as an active member of OBI’s management team, planning and participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities, including agency in-service days. 
  • Professionally represent OBI in meetings. trainings and in the broader community. 
  • Meet regularly with department staff as well as the Coordinators of Person-Centered Services. 
  • Conduct transportation training and OBI vehicle training for employees, as well as personal vehicle inspections as needed. 
  • Ability to report to the office five days a week. 
Non-Essential Duties 
  • Attend external meetings, conferences and trainings as needed/requested by supervisor. 
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications 
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • At least 2 years of prior supervisory experience.
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. 
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including all levels of staff, individuals served and their families, other providers, etc. 
  • Excellent organizational skills (ability to effectively manage assignments for team of up to 100 DSPs). 
  • Great attention to detail. 
  • Ability to problem-solve and make alternate plans/programmatic adjustments to best serve the individuals we support. 
  • Valid Driver’s license, clean driving record and daily access to a reliable vehicle. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft word and excel documents specifically.
